Shaun Boycott-Taylor, ARPS,AFIAP, DPAGB (joined 2013)

Born in North Wales Shaun he spent much of his early years living in the countryside surrounded by Wildlife and has fond memories of spending time after school and at weekends with his Grandfather who was a real "countryman" and small holder. His Grandfather was a mine of information with legions of patience and so taught Shaun to appreciate the Countryside and its Wildlife. A move to Anglesey gave Shaun the chance to see a huge variety of Birds with Waders in abundance and with high cliffs close by there was always birds to watch. Shaun remembers a very close encounter with a Peregrine Falcon at a disused quarry called “Castle Rock”, the memory of which will stay with Shaun forever.
Shaun started his photography in 2007 with the purchase of his first Canon camera a 350D digital SLR. In July 2008 he received his Licentiateship distinction (LRPS) and in September of 2010 he achieved his Associateship distinction (ARPS) from the Royal Photographic Society. In 2012 Shaun achieved an AFIAP award for his accepted images into international Salons of Photography. Since 2007 Shaun has progressed to using a Canon EOS 1DX and finds the Canon EOS Camera and L lens ranges superb equipment for Natural History photography.
His Wildlife Photography has rekindled his childhood interest for all living creatures and he has a real passion for wildlife, in particular birds, and this hopefully manifests itself through his images. Shaun finds the delicate lines and colours of our resident UK birds truly captivating and at times rather difficult to capture.
He is an avid supporter of the RSPB, the Wildlife Trust and the Brain Trust. He especially holds the work of the Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre in high esteem and he contributes regularly to their cause. Shaun is also a member of the Royal Photographic Society, The RPS Nature Group, Nature Photographers Portfolio and the Bristol Photographic Society.
Shaun is available to give talks on his style of photography, the proceeds of which are donated to the Brain Trust.org.uk and Brain Tumour Support.org.
