I took up photography seriously in late 2010 and my love of animals steered me in the direction of nature photography, although I do enjoy a variety of photographic genres. Working towards photographic qualifications helps me focus on further developing my skills and I obtained my LRPS and ARPS (Natural History) in 2015, my FRPS (Natural History) in 2021, DPAGB in 2017 and MPAGB in 2019. I also participate in National and International exhibitions (holding BPE3* and AFIAP) as well as giving photographic talks to camera clubs. Combined with my love of travel, nature photography has taken me to many destinations including Bulgaria, Finland, Iceland, Romania, Turkey, Tanzania, Ethiopia, USA, Chile, Falkland Islands and Thailand, the latter being a prize trip for winning the Wildlife Category in the ‘Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year’. In 2021 I was on the panel for the judging of the BBC Countryfile Calendar Competition and in 2022 was awarded 'Nature Photographer of the Year 2022' by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). I use Canon equipment and have now switched from DSLR to Mirrorless.
